CHAC
A group of six women artists presenting an exceptional art show called,
“El Corazon De La Mujer” (The heart of a woman). This show encompasses
the diversity among women today. Artists vary in experience which they
bring to this unique show, the full time professional artist to the
beginning crafter. These women share their hearts; some are disabled,
retired, cancer survivors, mothers, and women who are active in the
community. Art is the instrument that they use to reach out creatively
and present their work in positive way.
Featuring Artists: Debra Huerta, Verlinda Quinones Rozales, Rebecca Rozales, Rebecca Salinas, Marie Valencia, Suzanna Vega.
June 6th - June 29th 2008

A juried art exhibit curated by Carlos Fresquez and Christine Blackburn.
Also next door at CHAC Norte for a look at the work of CHAC Artists Robert Maestas, Robert Martinez plus the work of Michael Penny. Combining the natural beauty of stone and the expressive texture of deep relief sand carving give's Michael’s artwork the timeless beauty that is found in artifacts and one-of-a-kind art tiles. Michael’s latest creations were inspired by a recent trip to the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico were he visited the ruins at Chitzen Itza.

Kanon Collective
Kanon Collective will be featuring the work local artists Kym Bloom and David Menard.
Each month features new works by each artist in mediums ranging
from oil painting and works on paper to mixed-media photography and
sculpture. While each artist differs in his or her own personal style,
the gallery is unified along colorful and contemporary lines.
Kanon embraces artistically diverse perspectives and supports
innovative and experimental styles, allowing each artist to choose what
they display. Because all artists in the gallery are responsible for
the gallery and its operations, they can keep artwork priced reasonably
for the public and profitable enough for the artist.
